She Said Her First Word and I Didn't Realize It
I've been waiting to hear my daughter speak her first word for some time now. It just dawned on me the other day that she's been saying it for more than a month now. Her first word was "Hi."
I don't know why I didn't realize it. Maybe I was expecting it to be "Mama" or "Daddy" or some variation of them. Maybe it's because it was hard to tell whether she said it intentionally at first or if it was just another cooing sound she makes.
But she always accompanies her "Hi" with a wave. Sometimes it's a drawn out, "Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii," and sometimes it's just, "Hi."
I have yet another entry for her baby book.
