Leaving the Room

A couple of weeks ago, my daughter and I were playing in her bedroom. She had one of her sippy cups and had misplaced the lid. I could tell she was looking for something, but I didn't know what.

After a little bit, she leaned in toward me, pointed at me and said, "I'll be right back," then left the room to go have a look in the living room.

I couldn't help but laugh. It was so cute. Pointing a finger and leaning in are both things her dad does when he leaves a room for a minute. I might tell her, "I'll be right back," but I don't do the gestures. Her actions were all Dad.
