First-Time Mom

I didn't deliberately wait to become a mom in my 40s. That's just the way things worked out. My husband and I hoped for a baby for years, and when I turned 40, I thought it wasn't in the cards for us. Then, I found out I was pregnant.

I wouldn't trade this time for anything. My daughter is an absolute joy. However, when I'm out at the store with her, I keep waiting for someone to ask, "Is that your granddaughter?" No one has said that yet, but that doesn't mean they're not thinking it.
