Why the Dressing Table Now Makes Me Nervous

Nine-month-old babies squirm. A lot. Not too long ago, I could set my daughter on the dressing table and get her all decked out in pants, shirt and socks in less time than it takes me to dress myself. These days, I have to catch her first. And once I get her on the table, she wants to roll, sit and stand up, all while I try to wrangle her tiny arm into a sleeve.

Out of fear that she might wiggle right out of my arms and fall off the table, I've started changing her clothes on the living room floor. I think she squirms even more than she does on the table, but at least I don't have to worry about dropping her.
